I finally got to the point that I can't stand the ground textures of Philadelphia.
So I wanted to see if I can get any information on developing photorealistic ground mesh on my own.
Does anybody know of a tutorial that I can follow on how to create it? And where can I get the photos from? And will it be free?
Thanks! I'm looking forward to your post.

First, check out the Terrabuilder forum at Avsim. Terrabuilder puts a GUI interface on Microsoft's Terrain tools. Once you learn the ropes, log into mapquest, and choose the sat photo option for any major part of Philly.... I used this as source for a personal project, which is a 20x20 sq. mile section of Phoenix I stitched together. It took a while but the effort was worth it.

I fly out of Williams Gateway and do most of my virtual flying in PHX. Are you still working on that PHX scenery? I'd love to give it a try!!!
Thanke, Mike
If sitting in a plane is flying, then sitting in a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the element, get out!

I checked out Mapquest.com's aerial photos but the problem is...How do i eliminate that "Mapquest.com" logo in the picture?

Do you have any snapshots from MSFS of Phoenix. I live in Phoenix and would love to see what you came up with. Also, if there was an easy way to remove the 'multiple' logos from http://www.globexplorer.com could make some awesome terrian. They are more detailed, etc.

I'm not sure what I'm gonna do. If this project does happen, I will probably start it after I get out of school. I'll think about doing the Pheonix area but still....I'm not quite so sure. Anyways, thanks for the help!
