Hey all. I have a question here. I'm working on a scenery design project for FS2002 and had a question about textures. I know that when Lago produced Flight Sim Scenery Enhancer, they all ready used objects that were found with in flight simulator.

My project I'm designing is intended to be sold by a software publisher (hopefully) when it is finished. My question is this: I have basically photorealistic textures for all the buildings, etc, but when it comes to the roofs, and runways etc, that is the tricky part. Do you think MS would mind using their textures when it comes to this aspect of it? That's what I'm worried about - any thoughts and comments would be appreciated with this, especially those of you with scenery design knowledge.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Well, the textures (in FS directory) are copyright of MS Corporation, you are going to sell your scenery project so I wouldn't advise you to use any default textures.

There are a lot of websites where you can download Runway textures. Just go to www.google.com and type 'FS2002 Runway Textures' and some good links should come up, but I'm also not sure if it's ok for you to use them in your payware project.

Hope that helps.

P.S: Just email MS support team, they might be able to help you.

The textures remain the property of the original designer. They are his/her Copyright unless the designer explicitly sells or gives up his or her copyright. The scenery may well be released as freeware but this gives you the right to download it and use it for your own use. If you want to use any textures you download, you should contact the author/painter/designer and ask permission or offer to purchase the textures.
