cordless joystick

Since a few weeks I have a cordless joystick (Logitech Freedom 2.4). I'm very pleased with it, but what I don't like is the following. To save batteries, the joystick disconnects automatically if you don't push a button for a while. In FS this has the effect that (unless auto pilot is engaged) the engine(s) then accelerate to full power, again destroying another parking gate. You can only get back to normal power by pushing a button again (and so re-establishing the connection).
Does anybody know a solution (if any) for this?

They've always been good at assisting me with products.
