I've searched under the name of the author, scenery name, and key word caribbean, etc and did not find any posts about this so here goes.......

I downloaded some Caribbean scenery that adds boats/ships to that area. After installing any scenery or airplanes I always test it immediately to make sure everything is fine before going to the next add-on.

After installing a file called "carib1" by Jimmy R Martin, tried testing it. Now I get some missing scenery files errors. And FS won't run properly due to these error messages coming up anywhere I take off from (not just the Caribbean). Has anyone had this problem?

After reading more of the readme & credit docs, (always read the install docs before installing) I noticed some texture credits found in the "Must Have" files section. So I installed all those textures thinking that might be the problem. But it still happened.

I searched under key words "fix" and "caribbean" and author's name.........nothing towards that problem or file except the file itself.

I'd like to try and fix the problem without reinstalling if possible due to all the other things I've enhanced FS with. FS was running fine until this install.

I am not claiming that there's anything wrong with said scenery file, I may have done something wrong myself. Just asking if anyone has any ideas.

I saw where there's a gauge cleaner that scans for disconnected gauges & even missing gauges. Is there such a utility that scans for missing scenery and texture files?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Stuart

They work,I've had them installed for awhile.

What you need to do is copy the .bgl files directly into the SCENEDB\AFDfiles\Scenery folder. Copy all the textures to the main FS2002\texture folder. Make sure you delete the files from where you originaly had it installed.

You should be able to start up FS2002 without errors. Go to Nassau and slew back to the W or NW towards Florida, you should spot one or more liners headed back to Florida. Good luck!

Thanks David,

After several tries, I decided to uninstall, delete left behind files and reinstall. I put everything back. But I put said scenery add-on installed first. It worked first time. Everything worked as I tested it one by one after installing each scenery, airplane, texture, etc. All worked fine. I installed my Lago FS Scenery Enhancer. I noticed that it didn't take as long to install. I started up FS, same thing....scenery file missing error. I turned FSSE off, all was fine. So I ran the uninstaller, rebooted. FS ran fine. Reinstalled FSSE, all is fine again. It wasn't the boat scenery at all. Some how a scenery file from FSSE was deleted by accident. Must have been a clumbsy cut & paste of files on my part, I don't know. I have already sent an explaination to the scenery creator thanking him for his help and for making such a nice enhancement for FS and the above explaination too.

FSSE is a great program and was glad to rectify the problem so easily. It really makes the sim world look good.
