I've seen some screenshots of airports that someone had ground crews and workers walking around on the tarmac. How is this possible? Where could I go to get that sort of add-on? Anybody else have this?

Probably thats scenery which has been enhanced with Lagos
Flight Sim Scenery Enhancer (FSSE) which does allow the user
to add people in various types and sizes. Great tool. Could be even better if lago would add a few more objects, but it is quite good. Well worth the money.

Most add-on airport sceneries now come with some animations.

I have the UK2000 sceneries, which has moving cars, buses, tankers etc.

Airport 2002 comes with these plus ground crews, which are supposed to come to your aircraft after landing and parking at the gate, so it could be that one that you have seen.
