Does anyone have the GeForce4 Ti4600 8x agp video card? If so, how does it perform with FS2002

I have a GeForce Ti4200 128MB and it just about doubled my frame rates.

The question is, what are you hooking it up to?

If you are putting it in a machine that is an 800 MHz Processor with 128 MB of RAM, it might be overkill on the video card.

Your video card, RAM, and Porcessor all balance eachother out, and can limit the others performance.

I have one (nvidia TI 46000 installed on my Dell 8200. I'm very pleased with it, for $400.00 I should be. When I ordered my Dell computer they were just hitting the market and so they were rather expensive. At first I wasn't sure just how well it was performing until I put it along side of my Gateway and Compact computers, I matched the same flt situations and settings. I was really surprised and impressed at the difference. When I fly with virtual cockit the clarity of all the instruments is unbelievable. So to sum it all up I love it and it was money well spent. Well my wife doesn't think so. With 5 computers she says were are computer poor. I think I now have 14 different verions of Microsofts Flt Sim (not counting the addons). All the way back from when it was put out by Sublogic. I believe if some of my fellow flt simmers could see some earlier versions there would be less bashing of this great program. Just my opinion though. Keep the blue on top.

Hi,
do you mean that with a low end processor you wouldn't be able to use the video card, or that you couldn't simply get 100% out of it???

Thanks,
Luka.

Hi Luka as long as you have an AGP slot you can use it, the performance may not be as great as on a higher precessor but you will see a definate difference.

Just in the future for ya, you might check out www.pricewatch.com. I got my MSI GeForce 4200 128MB from there, for only $160.

Just thought as you need stuff in the future you might want a heads up.

Also, just to add to conversation from before; your computer runs all of its components together. So yes, your video card can be inhibited by the rest of the computer. I mean, to be stupid about it, if you put that Ti4800 into a 266 MHz system, how much of the 4800 can actually get used by the rest of the computer? Just something to keep in mind for everyone trying to upgrade.
