Can anybody help me?!?!?!? When I go to the VC of the Vans Aircraft Co DC-9, Where the instrument panel texture should be there is a big grey rectangle that blocks off part of the windscreen! This happens in both of my DC-9s, even though they were obtained from separate sources. The texture is there (Ive found it in the directory) it just wont show. The overhead and throttle panel are fine. Does anybody know how to fix this?

thanks in advance,

I downloaded a DC-9 a few days ago and if you are or want an explicable aircraft and panel, download sasdc941.exe
I found it somewhere and it's out there. Recommendation is to read the manual. The chap that designed the panel was a pilot on this aircraft. I have spent two days reading the manual and I finally got aborn to-day after three tries. Have fun: Frank!

Don't have this plane, but do you have updated video drivers. List Specs, and also what your graphics setting are at. Did the readme specify what graphics settings you should use?

Hi, Ive tried the DC-9-41 and like it, but the vans version is the -32 version I prefer.
The readme file mentions no specific graphic settings etc that I should use. The exterior of the aircraft and every other aircraft I have is fine. It is just this texture on this aircraft that is the problem. I am beginning to think that either the texture is mis-named or that part of the panel is untextured in the MDL file.
In case it helps, my system specs are:
700MHz Athlon
512mb RAM
20Gb HD
Geforce 4 MX440 GC

thanks for your helph

Ok,

I went and downloaded it from Avsim. They have a version 1.1 dated August 2, 2002, so I am not sure if that is the version you have.

You Can View and D-Load it here:
http://library.avsim.com/esearch.php?CatID=fs2002ac&DLID=17931

I've attached 3 pics showing different views. All I did was install it and it worked right away.

I still think you should try and lower your graphics settings as low as you can then try it. I know it is a pain as it reloads, but you may find the sweet spot.

Also delete all versions and try the one I listed above. Not sure where you got your version from, but it may have gotten corrupted.

Your puter should be able to run it, but here is one more trick. Load it up, walk away for ten minutes. Come back and see if the textures loaded. If yes, then your system is just a bit slow.

Mine is a 1.2, 512 mb Ram, GeForce II Pro 64mb, so you are ahead of me on Graphics but I have you on processor. How much space is available on your hard drive?

Well, that about runs it for me. Let me know if any of it works.

Joe :-wave

Hey, that looks really superb! I really want to fly the Airtran and Air Canada versions, but cant because of this bug, which is a pity as the excellence of this aircraft shows through despite.

I dont think the problem is with computer speed, as this aircraft gives great frame rates normally, but I will try the '10 minute break' just in case. I will also download the updated model to see if that works. It'll have to wait until tommorrow, but Ill tell you what happens.

It seems we got off on the wrong foot in the OM, but we can put that behind us now. After all, we share a common interest - Flightsimming

Nahh... No wrong foot.

All of us share common interests. You are just discovering who I really am most of the time. Although we may disagree, I will always try and help out when I can.

Some of my best friends around here were originally against a few of my positions in OM. :-)

Best of Luck,

Fixed it! I downloaded v1.1 as Joe suggested and tweaked the panel.cfg file a bit and hey presto! it works!

LAST EDITED ON Jan-09-03 AT 03:34PM (EST)[p]I am missing all of the gauges that start w/ d92ksh and cf722 for the panel tat comes with the package. Does anybody know where I can get these missing files (file and location).

Thanks for the help in advance!

Yes, I had that problem as well. I solved it by copying the panel.bmps and panel.cfg from the aforementioned dc-9-41's panel folder to the dc-9-32's panel folder and then adding the virtual cockpit details from the original dc-9-32 panel.cfg to the new panel.cfg that you copied over from the dc-9-41. This has two advantages - you get the advanced panel from the dc-9-41 and get to keep the VC from the dc-9-32. neat huh!
