I have (what I consider to be) good graphics on my computer. The view from the cockpit has always been pretty good, no shimmering or blurring.

But today, that all changed. I got blurries and shimmering.

What has caused my system to do this? After careful thought, I realised that the only thing that has changed on my computer (in the last month) was the installation of a small graphics program that uses Martin Wrights .dll set.

I use (and have always used) Martins DXT.bmp program, but never his full set of .dll's.
The program I installed recently, uses Martins set (4) of .dll's.

I removed the set of .dll's from my system, restarted and reloaded FS2002, then took a flight over familar territory.

Guess what?

No blurries or shimmering!!

I again re-installed all the .dll's and again had crappy graphics.

Is this the cause of others problems with blurries and shimmering? It sure is the answer to my problems.

On an interesting note, this problem only occurs on one of my computers, the one with WinXP. My other computer, Win98SE, doesn't suffer at all from blurries or shimmering and it has the same graphics programs installed on it, plus the same full set of .dll's.

If you are running WinXP and Martins set of .dll's, you will find them all in the System 32 folder, which is located in your Windows folder.
The .dll names are:
mwdds.dll
mwgfx.dll
mwgfx24.dll
mwtwack.dll

Just thought I would share that with you all in hope that it may help someone.
It certainly has helped me.

cheers

David
