I am getting a rather annoying sound popping in both these addons. Any ideas? I am using Win XP and have messed with the Direct X sound settings and I can't get rid of it.

I'm not sure if this is the same problem that I was experiencing before or not... I was getting popping sounds in some addon aircraft, no matter what drivers for the soundcard I tried, and no matter what settings I changed, I couldn't get rid of it. Turned out it was because my soundcard was just a lower quality card (I knew it was when I bought it, but didn't have enough $$ for a good one at the time). So, I went out and bought a new one and voila! - no more popping.

In my experience, this is particularly true of systems where the sound is built onto the motherboard. Many simply cannot handle the DirectX sound accelleration. And of course, as it is all built in, there is not much you can do about it. Built on video and sound are simply auful choices for flight sim enthusiasts, IMHO.
You don't see the problem in the default aircraft because quite honestly, they don't do much with sound.

Although... Even if it is onboard sound - and if he's got an extra PCI slot you could always disable the onboard card and throw in a better sound card...
