I have a huge number of addon sceneries. As a result of most of them being in the addon folder, I have heaps of textures which are duplicated many times over. I do not have a large HD.
Can I run these addons with all my textures in the main texture folder? and if so, will it slow down my computer ever more? (it is an old slow system at the best of times). Thanks, Terry.

Keep them separate to keep your sanity. How you going to upgrade a package if you don't know which textures to remove to get rid of the older version?
If you have one HDD, most computers will take 2 very easily. You could add a hardrive and put all new scenery on the new drvie in a new ADDON2 folder.

Yea adding a hardrive isn't hard. Just pop it in and put in all the cables then partition it then I think its ready. Not having done it Myself.
Btw if you are getting a HD I would suggest going to www.pricewatch.com and browse there. You can get a fairly big HD for a low price. Just my suggestion.

thanks chips, I don't sprekende deutsch, but I can guess what the comment is I think, and I agree.Terry.
Would adding a second HD possibly warrent a bigger power supply?Or at least make sure what you have now is adequate.
