This is probably a stupid question, but how do you know what your frame rate is at any given time?
I just did some serious upgrades to a few airports and with all the traffic the fram rate is terrible. Any suggestions on how to improve it?
Any help is appreciated!

shift + Z to display framerates
Try reducing AI traffic. I have it set at 10 percent. Having it at a high setting reduces your framerates a lot. Hope this helps

the only stupid question is the one unasked' ;; you'll have to experiment with the display setting, and i've used a specific saved flight to recreate the same conditions each test flight. [just a short T.O. and climb and turn to maybe 3ooo ft, pause and save , then adjust setting and re-fly, repeat. ]tom t
oh yeah.. when done turn off the fr display, fly what "feels" good.

Wow...how did Simon miss this one?....
He surely would have disagreed with you! (Although I certainly agree!)
The more questions that are asked....the more everyone learns....

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm also going to try adding another 128 MB of RAM.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-12-02 AT 03:37PM (EDT)[p]That, most assuredly, is one job that I would strongly advise reading the manual about...
Also, add this line under FS2002.cfg
{MAIN}
AVE_FRAME_RATE_DISPLAY=1
When you next display the frame rate indicator you now have maximum, average and minimum fps indicated, plus percentage variation. Hours of fun!
