was the sun glare in the fs2k2 preview video just effect or is there a way to really get a real looking sun glare in the game? cuz the sun glare now just makes the screen bright wich is fake.

What kind of sun glare do you want? I notice that I get
some real nice sun glare depending on time of day..at times,
depending on weather/clouds the sunset and the coloring in
the aircraft are almost stunning

what i should have said was lens flare...thats what i meant. in the fs2k2 video...when the view was directed at the sun, there was glare and flare. i want the flare.

I know what you mean,I quit using the sung glare option in the realism settings 'cause like you said, the screen just turns brighter.I'm not complaining,I just think it could use some work. I think the lense type effect could easily be a touchup if it was just a pic,but I don't know about the video.

I don't know to which picture you're refering but I think it's quite likely that the author imported the shot into a program such as Adobe Photoshop (or Premiere if a video) where it is quite easy to add this effect. Once you know your way around the program, that is.
I edit video on my computer with Premiere and have used this effect a couple of times.

Oh there is an answer my friend, MS obviously put the flare in to make it look as 'realistic' as possible. Now where have we heard that word before. Do you remember, a short while ago, some guy complaining that the airport in the sim didn't look like the picture on the box.

The folks who do the graphics for Microsoft are not going to show you what the typical system looks like. They are going to show the totally tricked out to the max graphics. Your average computer will look like a still life, but you can get the detail!

On the bright side, the framerate will be so low that you will have time to appreciate all the fine details.

:-wave Wait.... you are speaking as if the sunglare effect (similar to the one that FLY by terminal reality really has) is possible on fast computers. This is not so, it is not available no matter how fast the computer may be. I have a very fast computer and all I get is that darn "whiteout" screen, no effect as indicated before in the original posting.
