Help! Can't run F$2002 on Radeon 8500

I installed a new Radeon 8500; since then I found a lot of problems with my computer. First, whenever I change the display settings, the whole system crashes. (I am still using Win98)
Second, I can't run F$2002 with the Radeon 8500. I have tried the latest driver, but still it is just the same.
Does anyone know how to solve the problem?

If I where you I would have tried a BIOS upgrade, perhaps also check bios for AGP settings

I am already using the latest Bios.
As to AGP setting: Well.......

PIV 1.8 Ghz
512 RAM
radeon 8500LE 128
40 GB HD
syncmaster 750 st 17" 1280x1024x32 at 85hz

Please detail the exact procedure you used to uninstall the old card and install the new, including drivers.
