I've just bought MS2000. Stupid really bearing in mind iminent release of 2002.
I am running windows Millenium Edition with a nvidea geforce 3d graphics card, 1.3g processor, but I keep getting silly error messages.
This happens with most games I try that are windows 95/98 compatible (like MS Golf) and the message says something like no video driver installed. The effect is that some of the clips dont work, such as the images of the planes available for the flight selected.
I can't work out if this is a conflict with ME and the game or I need a patch or my system....? Any comments gratefully received

I'm running FS2000 on a machine with Windows ME, but with less than half the computing power you have. You need to check to make sure your drivers are properly installed. If they aren't, the CD-ROM should have been with the video card, or your system if the computer came with that card. I'd also check out the Direct X drivers (I've version 8.0a on mine).
I had different problems with FS2000. In my case, it took forever before it would even create the scenery indices, and I never fly it for any length of time, as left to its own devices, it always goes wrong.

It must be something with the machine. I'm running FS2000 on a PIII 700Mhz notebook with Windows ME and it runs great. The only problem I have is those wonderful floating lights that people have been talking about. I get them with the default scenery. The machine has an ATI 3d mobility graphics card in it. It was annoying at first, but now it is kinda amusing since they look like UFO's.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-05-01 AT 03:59PM (EDT)[p]Yes it is. Very Much.
If you are running a Nvidia Geforce card, then go to either http://www.nvidia.com or http://www.guru3d.com. At either of these sites you can download the DETONATOR 3 or 4 Drivers. These are Nvidia's reference drivers built to work on any Geforce or Geforce 2 card. I would Reccomend the DETONATOR 4 drivers they the best.
Before you do that though change your video to "PCI VGA Graphics adapter". That will remove your present drivers and allow the DET 4 drivers to install cleanly.
If that only improves a little also download Directx 8. You can get the from guru3d as well. Just click on downloads to access the drivers and directx 8.
Let me know if it helped.

P.S. - Make sure you have the patch for FS2000 (patch is 2b at the moment). Install that too.
