Found my old FS98 CD tonight and thought I'd load it so see how she goes. Oh dear me. All the moaners about FS2002 should run FS98 and compare the product. Happy memories with 98, but thank God for progress, and FS2002.

It's certainly crude! Having said that, it's more stable than FS2000 ever was on my PC. Someone has uploaded TWELVE FS98 repaints for payware planes today :o

I liked those skyscrapper clouds.

I remember those days. FS98 ran with sliders maxed at 40 fps on my 500 Mhz system, lol. It was a big changed to go from 40 fps maxed in FS98 to about 5 fps maxed in FS2k and FS2k2, but with my new system, things are great. Sliders maxed, I get 15-20 fps in high-detail areas and 25-30 elsewhere.

How do you know when it's time to upgrade your computer? As soon as you get the latest copy of flightsim, it's time!

Boy, you guys should try FS95, (or was it called something else? It was before 98 I think) 40FPS on my 200MHZ, 32 RAM :-). But ahh, yes thank goodness for FS2002.

I still have my version of flight sim dated early 80's.
It ran on my Commodore 64.
Just a Cessna panel that updated about once every 5 seconds.
Now THAT was paleo-computing =)
