It´s been a long time since my last posting. That orbx stuff improved me so much that
i decided to buy a new rig:

i7 3930K 3,2GHz 6 Core
16GB Corsair CL9
Asus Sabertooth X79
GTX570 Phantom 1280MB

With this system, i thought, all my FSX pains and worries about performance are over.
Hahahahahahha!!!!!!! Was it Rick who said “PPP” (Piss Poor Performance)

Okay, i learned a lot of tweaking in the last 1-2 weeks and it is working well now.
First thing was to disable Hyperthreading in BIOS, than the typical tweaks like
HIGHMEMFIX and JOBSCHEDULER (interesting). The fps are locked at 30fps now
and the varience is minimal. After nearly 2 weeks i started to enjoy my rig – and FSX!

Some shots of a quick round at Skagit. The main invention for my posting is to say:
I´m still alive and simming!

lol you'd think with a system like that you'd have no problem playing a 6 year old game. I've got a similar build (i5 2500k OC'd to 4.2ghz, 560ti OC'd to just short of 570 speeds, and 8GB of ram), and I was surprised to find I still have some issues with FSX. I'll have to look into that hyperthreading fix.

Nice shots though.

Pretty shots, Thorsten!
I'm happy to see some screens from you again :)
And I think I'm right when I say: this ORBX stuff is awesome, hm?

Gute Arbeit!

Thorsten, congrats on the new rig,the screens are great and I know what you mean about FSX,it is a very "fiddly" program!Even with the best equipment it can still cause many headaches and frustrating times.Sometimes I feel like I spend more time tweaking than flying!:o

Congrats on the new rig Thorsten and great to hear from you again. I don't understand why so many people have so many problems, the only problem i had was a few CTD, but a DLL fixed that, other than that i have absolutely no tweaks, no background services shut down or anything, I think a lot of people over tweak, i've read that several places. Anyway fantastic set of shots my friend.:cool::cool::)

Thanks for all the replies, it´s apreciated!

Gary: I´m sick & tired of all that tweaking! I´ll never look again on the fps indications. I took the best out of my system...
Henrik: Danke!
Rick: Thank you! The GTX570 is a fast and furious one...
housefish: After i disabled hyperthreading my system runs not faster but the fps are more stable (better variance) But, what is
good for my system could be completely different at your one. On the other hand, it seems to be logical for me that FSX cannot handle virtual cores, but indeed physical ones.
Adam: I have no idea what really happens inside FSX. On my old system with XP 32bit, a QuadCore AMD, 4GB RAM i had a performance
nearly as good as with the new one with, at least, 100% more power. Someone here who can explain me this???

I don´t mind any longer! FSX is great and the orbx sceneries make me happy. More screenshots will come. hehe

A good week to everyone!
