Question re: Frame rates

Gang - looking for some input. I'm a FPS snob. I need smooth scenery and in most default scenery I get 60 FPS. With certain add-ons, that can drop to 30-40. But I have noticed recently that upon landing at a default airport (O'Hare in particular) the FPS drop as I land, and stay low all the way into the gate. Then I'll shut down that flight, and restart one at O'Hare and the FPS problem continues. Yet, if I shut down FS9 altogether and restart it and go to O'Hare, it's back to smooth FPS (60). What can happen during a flight that would drop FPS to the point that getting them back to normal requires a entire restart of FS9. Is it a memory issue, graphic card issue, any thoughts?

It could be a memory leak, but that usually leads to a CTD or lockup. Perhaps too many AI? Reduce the AI percentage and see if that helps. A long shot, but if you have detailed scenery and lots of AI the vid card could be overheating and throttling back (may be time to blow the dust out of the fans).

I get zero when im near EWR coming or going. As i get away it will go up to about 20 If I land it freezes and when it unfreeze I may be at the other end of the runway of on a taxi way
