With.... or without the cockpit?

With.... or without the cockpit?

I'd buy it in an instant if it had a cockpit. But since they didn't say, I'm guessing it's without. :(

I'm getting pretty bored with it all now -- already done all the types of missions there are, and don't have anything new to play with (I'm not about to waste money on a toy plane without a cockpit.)

I wonder when Alaska will come out, and how much $ they want for it? And what new plane(s) will be included?

Have you done all the jobs at the various airports ?

Surely you mean the same job at different airports.................

Yeah. For a while my favorite was Clandestine missions - slightly more challenging dodging the Feds. But there's just so many tons of ducks I can deliver. I wish they had more missions specific to the Icon... on a set of islands surrounded by water!

No cockpit. I'm puzzled by this trend by "MS Flight".
A cockpit is a major part of the FS experience for me.
Unless you spend all your time flying with an outside view, there's no realism.
These planes, without cockpits, all seem pretty much the same.

I tried to be funny at the Connect discussion board and got banned because of it: This was my idea;

Do a search on Google for a P-40 cockpit image. Once you find it, print it on a 11x8.5 piece of cardstock or photo paper.
Then, use a pair of scissors and trim away the windshield. Then, tape the cutout on the edge below your screen during gameplay.
There you have it, a cockpit for your P-40. :-)

I think that's a great idea! I'm planning a large paper body to use for video chatting applications! ;) — Bob

I suppose they're getting tired of the bazillions of no-cockpit complaints. :D

I really hope they do get tired of all the negative comments about the "No Cockpit" decision....maybe they'll take a hint and stop that nonsense.I would have gladly paid the few extra bucks for a complete aircraft....

I just wish some folks would get it through their thick heads that all of these cockpitless wonders were planned for and completed long before Flight was released...

MSGS simply can't "stop the presses" and do a one-eighty overnight, no matter how loudly the crowd jeers and crys "foul!" Expect one more such aircraft before Alaska DLC is released, then see what comes afterwards.

I don't know..they seem to be ignored. have you visited the www.microsoftflight.com main page lately? Its remarkable just how much bad comments are there for almost every news they've posted.
If they were smart, they'd just turn off the comment feature of the news announcements. It is not helping advance the product in any way from what I can tell. It's relentless dogging of the product.

After the first release of the zero cockpitless wonder - complaints follow on ms forum.

than they released the p 40 another 'cockpitless wonder' - surely they could have add a cockpit even if it was completed 'long before' flight was released.

This was intentional - they wanted cockpitless aircrafts and will do more in the future becouse that is exactly what they want to do.

None of the relentless braying is doing a bit of good either. In fact, it's doing precisely the opposite...

Having been party to the thread in question and also having had my posts copied out by you to another forum I would say that the 'banning' was not related to the comment you made above. I find it hard to imagine why anyone would be offended by that (other than MS have a certain sensitivity to the word Google).

Whether the banning based on the real reason was justified or not is another matter. It certainly would have been perverse if the above post triggered it.

we all get to vote with our wallets, end of story. If you don't like it don't buy it. You probably aren't buying 99% of the other games out there. It's the same thing. It's called the law of large numbers... to think one post is going to change things is a bit of an ego trip.

Yup, the law of numbers says even the FLIGHT crowd doesn't want a cockpit with their aircraft. The FLIGHT team listened and delivered once again!

Don't remember a version of FS with better guages than what is already included so far. What's your comparison level, to what standard are you holding them up to? Cause I rather have something that feels good at 60 fps, than an aircraft with detail that doesn't complement the hardware it's running on.

Yes lets go back to the days when Aces made generic guages that don't match the actual aircraft.... I rather have nothing than assume a P-51 guages can be modelled using cessna parts.
