View Full Version : Flying tip corrupt ?

Planes that have a fuel tank selector seem to get this "Your fuel level is critically low in the selected tank. Automatic refuel is available now. To complete this action, press: CTRL + X"
The tanks are full as you can see and the selector switch is set to both tanks. This keeps popping up about every 10 seconds and is very annoying as the tanks ARE full. I temporally deleted the "Flying Tips" ( CTRL + Shift + X ) but I would not mind having it activated for when it is needed.
So far I've just noticed this in the Cessna Caravans and the DC3, have not checked other planes with fuel selectors.
I"m trying to be a pilot not a magician. If I need fuel I'll try and land somewhere and refuel, not by a glorified MS virtual air fuel tanker. ( Just venting off steam here. :D )
I've thought it may be a glitch, but rebooting ( Full cold reboot ) usually fixes the glitches, also I keep the hard drive defragged ( very often with this Simulation especially ) but doing that doesn't help for it ( flying Tips ) kept bugging me before I deleted it.

This pic shows I'm on the ground but bad flying tip shows up even in the air with tanks that are ballanced for fuel.

Any particular folder in FSX to look into or any info how to fix this.

Running Win XP Home 32 bit, Nvidia GTX 260 OC 896 MB GDDR3,AMD Phenom 9500 X4 processor, 3 1/4 GB memory ( Max for XP Home 32 bit ).

Thanks in advance.
Wanna be:pilot:

EDIT: Forgot, this is stock FSX Gold, nothing added yet till I get fairly used to Sim.

Had this same problem w/ the Iris payware PC-9 but never w/ default MS aircraft. David Brice was unable to offer fix except to disable the flying tips which I did. It's good to get in the habit of resetting the altimeter and DG every 15 minutes anyway. Hope you find a solution.

That's a good idea and that's what I'll do. Sorry "Flying Tips" but your not welcome on my computer. LOL

Thanks M. Slim.
