Calm down you classic buffs, I'm only taking you back to the mid 90's! This is about as classic as I'll get.

Flight BA26 from Taipei to Hong Kong Kai Tak. Sorry about the vis in Hong Kong chaps, but couldn't really do anything about it!

I won't bore you with the procedure here, I'm sure everyone knows how to read charts. We came in at MAGOG.

Ready to taxi to 05L, or 06 I think it was back then.

Stuck it all in the FMS anyway, but I'll be flying this one manually using the Cheung Chau VOR, the Sha Lo Wan NDB and the KL ILS/DME. Also have the Tathong Point VOR on standby should we have to go around... which may be a distinct possibility.

You can catch a glimpse of the city through the cloud.

Just overhead the Sha Lo Wan NDB (which is pretty much on top of the current Hong Kong airport) and tracking 045 to intercept the localiser.

Have the localiser and glide, next few are rather scenic as we go down.

Just past the middle marker and there's the checkerboard... we are visual, so time to turn.

Fairly terrifying for everyone involved, needless to say.

Yep, bloody brilliant. When are you going to be doing this for real? Not at Kai Tak obviously. :)

Nice Tom! You should have nailed that dead on after all the training you've been through man. Great job! :)
