Hi all, I like Microsoft Flight, and I can fly fine with the Boeing (ironic, being able to fly a taildragger better than a trike setup in a sim...), anyway, with the Icon, for some reason the plane will drift left (NOT from the prop!), I can apply FULL RIGHT rudder and it still drifts left. Also, I read the checklist, up elevator at 35 kt. Climb at 60 and raise gear below 90. However, my rate of climb is about 50 feet per minute if i maintain 60 knots. It's almost like a straight and level attitude. There is no way to adjust mixture / prop in the Icon, and i've tried it above 3k and at sea level so it's not because of the mixture.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Must be the weight of the pilot? It's a light aircraft so a pilot might cause some imbalance.
Think of the Icon as a powered glider (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light-sport_aircraft) like the one in FSX so that you shouldn't expect much from it.

Are you flying with assists turned off? Calm air or crosswind? The Icon like all light aircraft is much more likely to be pushed off line by prop wake and/or wind.
Also because of the light, flexible landing gear any quick lateral motion gets amplified by the gear bending. Much like the Extra in FS9/FSX takeoffs require gradual, even acceleration, and gentle control of yaw forces. I fly ultalights in real life so I'm more aware of these limitations. Hope that helps a little. — Bob

Yeah, I'm playing with assists turned off, on max realism. However, I fly ultralights in real life too, and I have flown solo so I do know that having one pilot can make it yaw a bit more to the left, however, I don't think that's the problem here, as stated, even if I apply full right rudder, it still drifts to the left. Also, I'm playing with about 10 knots of crosswind generally, however it seems like the airplane is so underpowered, I can barely keep it flying without stalling. The Boeing is fine in terms of power and crosswinds, I'm just having trouble with the Icon.

Sounds like a particular problem then. I can't say I've had quite the same issues. The power seems adequate for an ultralight. Tried it with strong winds and it was getting tossed like a leaf. I'll let you know if I come across similar problems. — Bob

Not doing so can result in the airplane still drifting to one side, even with full rudder.

Yep, I am.
Edit, i saw a video of a flight simmer who also had a left problem however his was in the air. An uncommanded left turn. Perhaps its related.

Replying to bump, I fixed the problem,
I'm not sure exactly why its fixed, however, I realized that when I had the issue I had both my saitek x52 pro plugged in and an xbox 360 controller plugged in, which was sitting behind my monitor. I think it might be possible that they were counteracting eachother... or something. Anyway, works fine now, so thanks.
Yes that will be your problem. I have a J/S and FF Steering wheel plugged in at the same time, unless I turn the wheel off FS becomes really sluggish.

Quite the opposite here, i've been using the xbox360 controller... more of a challenge. As a gamer part of me wants to actually make fun of the Saitek/Madcatz connection then again I do own one myself :)
