Same here Don. And don't bother clicking that support button. Totally useless runaround. — Bob

Well, this is why we have support forums. Sooner or later we'll start to learn answers for problems like this, though with the sim just having been released it's a bit early.

I'm having problems too, trying to connect to Live, so even though I've got the basic sim installed I'm still missing out on all the extra planes and features Live adds :-(

Yeah, I just wish they would have provided a simple RTM update for us Beta Testers. It could be that I'm attempting to install it in C:\Games alongside FSX too.
That's where I installed the Beta. I was hoping all of the BSODs and Video Driver errors, I was experiencing in the Beta, would be gone, so, I could really Test it's capabilities.
Snot in the cards at this time I suppose.

Support is non-existant so far. I wonder why they didn't have that channel staffed and running for the release?

For those of you that remember my earlier "uiautomationcore.dll reference", the FSX mouse/menu error is exactly the same type of thing that was happening, except it wasn't a CTD, it was a full boogie BSOD that required a Cold Start of the computer to recover.

Other than that, I thought Flight looked pretty good. After disabling all of the arcade stuff that is. I'll keep plugging away at it...Don

If you had the beta, remove it first, run a registry cleaner, reboot, and try again. This is what worked for me. It is probably a good idea to download, install and briefly run the base game first, then download and install any add-ons you may acquire.

If you participated in the beta program, they issued an email about uninstalling the product in advance of the final release....

Here's a relevant snippit...

Before you install the final version of Microsoft Flight, however, please make sure that you uninstall the beta by following the instructions below:

Uninstall Microsoft Flight from the Add/Remove Programs screen
Delete the following directories (if they exist). Navigate to them by pasting the paths given below in the address bar of Windows Explorer:

%UserProfile%\My Documents\Flight
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Flight
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\XLive\DLC\4d5308d3
%AppData%\Microsoft\Flight

1st attempt was to install on top of the Beta(C:\Games\Flight Beta).
2nd attempt was install to it's own new folder(C:\Games\Flight).
3rd attempt was with the Beta removed, Reg Cleaned, rebooted(also to C:\Games\Flight).

Attempting now to install to the default location. If that succeeds, I'm gonna try it out, then attempt to move it, do the JF registry repair thingy and see if that will work.
I have a fresh full C:\ backup in place "after" removal of the Beta, so, I can get back to where I was if the above doesn't work and trashes my install.
I'll update upon success...Don

Similar problem but different error code saying extraction failed. Is this the software that would be more stable and less hassle than FSX - I don't think so so far. I've emailed support but no response so far.

I didn't get an e-mail about removing the Beta 1st.
Successfully installed to the default location! The mouse/menu weirdness remains, but, no crashes.
I have to move and hover my mouse around to get the clickspots to "light up" and then use "enter" to get the function to work.

In the Beta, when I invoked "Play" it went to a menu screen where I could select free flight, missions, challenges, etc.
Now it keeps taking me back to the introductory flight, which I did, twice.
Any suggestions to get beyond the introductory flight? Esc does nothing!

I eliminated both overclocks on my CPU and GPU, and had no difference. At least in the Beta my mouse worked the clickies. What am I doing wrong?
Duff installation maybe? I'll remove and reinstall it again I guess...Don

I followed the instructions on removing the beta and haven't had any trouble with Flight so far. Then again, I didn't have much trouble with the beta either. Definitely try removing all traces of Flight and try again. I would be a bit leery about moving Flight after it has been installed, and would just install it to the final place you want it.

Finally! :D I removed it, reinstalled it to my original target of C:\Games\Flight, and got through the introductory flight, and the wedding flight.
Kinda odd that it errored previously when trying the C:\Games location. Maybe FSX got lonely and put out the Welcome mat!

Everything is working properly now, so, I assume I had a crap install in the default location.

MS needs to sincerely re-think their pricing. A few more Islands and two planes for darn near the price of the entire PNW isn't gonna cut it for me.
Oh well, I'll let it mature a tad and see what they come up with in the way of simulation enhancements..Don
