Hehe looks like Microsoft is seeding the AVSIM forum with nothing but sunshine about Flight. Already complaints that all the negative stuff is being removed by the mods over there. Funny when comparing that forum to this one, guess Avsim and their mods drank too much Micrososft Koolaid. Nothing but positive comments about Flight? Comon, anyone who knows anything about flight simulation knows somethings wrong over there!

They got tired of the mindless speculation and the infantile whining about it not being for "real pilots". Microsoft seeding and kool-aid? My, we are full of conspiracy theories. But I guess you know way more than your 3 posts might show.

Sorry but until I posted my query about ground rules for discussion, the forum was nothing but a love fest and the lone negative thread locked. Seems my comments have at least opened up the discussion.

Actually, every company does it, it would be dumb not to. The fortune 500 I work for openly calls them "ninjas".

It began in this forum about a week ago.

So far, the threads I read over at Avsim have had more useful negative posts than here at Flightsim.com. They actually seem to try and support their statements about Flight being bad, instead of just blurting out something like 'piece of crap this' and 'kiddie software that'... People here could learn from that :).

The header at the top of the page surprised me. The level of moderator monitoring was very high.

The mgt and mod staff at Avsim will not tolerate any level of criticism, no matter how valid or reinforced it may be, toward Flight. I posted my concerns over the overly positive treatment of Flight which at that point in the evening had nothing but a sugar sweet fanboi reception with a lone thread of dissent having already been locked. Before long my thread ran away with mix of pro/con responses, at least generating legitimate conversation and not the cotton candy scripted reviews. My take from mod responses made it apparent to me that there was going to be no honest discussion of FLIGHT.

Shortly thereafter I was banned from the forums.

Good.

Stay away from that forum - you will be better off.

I'm not much of a visitor or poster of that forum, but I will say that an artificial positive poster is as much a troll as a negative/hating troll.

I suppose the moderator of the Avsim.com 'Flight' forum likes posts with ARGUMENTS and dislikes posts with stuff like:

"I know in advance that this game will be shit", "F**k of Microsoft", "I won't even try it because i know it will be a disaster", "They are just in for the money", "It's a piece of crap" and other nice words and expressions.

I can completely agree with the moderators attitude in this case.

I see some 'likes' in that forum but also a lot of (more or less) argumented posts with 'dislikes', and that's what a forum is supposed to be used for.

Now i will download and test the program first before i judge it with some arguments.

Good.

Only two AVSIM threads have been locked sincle the new forum was opened.

The first was titled" The difference between "critique" and "criticism"" and degenerated into a squabble bewtween two Commercial Developers.

The second as titled "Post release - I'm still offended" and the initial post was a diatribe against Microsoft "for turning their backs on us loyal flight sim followers."

Neither dealt with the merits/demerits of Flight. Which was your contribution?
