A very interesting interview with the Head of the MS Flight Team:

That interview is ridiculous. Aside all the errors, it spun out of control into worthless questions. Who cares if it would be bundled with Windows 8. The interviewer is obviously not familiar with MSFS and doesn't have any real relevant questions to ask. Terrible read. Sounds like 25,000 "Odd" airports were just to much for Josh's liking.

Yep! His roots are showing. Same guy who said he didn't get it, when commenting on a Hi-Fi simulation's draw to us FS users. Game developer...Don
Executive Producer Joshua Howard hopes the game will draw more than 20 million players eventually.
Ahh the visions wishful destiny. A bit grandiose, good luck Joshua!
/a deep rumbling whispers from the evergreens ... laughter almost, we're not sure yet.

Depends on how you count. I think someone mentioned Flight could be bundled with Windows? And if the user just logs in once, but never buys a single addon for it... then MS is still going to count that as a widget. There are probably pie charts and graphs sitting in MS powerpoints that are already "proving" how Fight is(was) an amazing success.
This is a great example showing the differences between honest mathmatics and story telling accounting.

Grand Theft Auto is nearly the same, perhaps more appealing.
What they have done to the Flight Simulator franchise is shocking, and makes me sick. They pay lip service to the FS series, then move away from it as fast as possible. An MS rep was saying that they were trying not to alienate their customer base, well they are so far off the mark we are not even their customer base, and we are not even their target market. The Grand Theft Auto franchise could say that we are their customer base with equal validity.
I'm going to buy more PMDG's, a Carenado, a Level D, etc.
PS: I think we should have a Grand Theft Auto forum.

I couldn't believe the part about 25,000 airports as if flying circles around the island of Hawaii is much more interesting.
Not everyone does long haul flights, but they are obviously clueless about this. Island hopping Polynesian Islands, Saint Marteen and the list goes on and on...

Made me think back to this post I made in another thread.
"When MICROSOFT FLIGHT becomes available, I will most likely download it being it’s FREE, (free being just another four letter word beginning with F) and if it goes like it is described, that will be the end of it. But it kind of makes me wonder, what are the chances of there being a hidden agenda in the “FREE” program? Loln (laughing out load nervously)"
The agenda appears to me to be populate as many platforms as possible with a B.F Skinner operant conditioning chamber (Flight, for the /woosh crowd), populate the chamber using bait, encourage addictive behavior with treats (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA96Fba-WHk), service the addiction, profit.
A Carnival/Arcade type of system, nothing more - yet.
