Joe:

You beat me to it. As soon as I finished reading these updates, I was going to ask the same question. We are leaving Saturday, and planning to be their a day early to get the feel of things (With my tail between my legs, I regret to say we will be driving).

One sad note. I made reservations at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Fond Du Lac a year ago. Some weeks back, I decided to check on my status, and they never heard of me. Back to the drawing board, now we are staying way over in Manitowoc.

Planning to be there all week. It might be kind of nice to find out that you have started something, and stirred the pot. Maybe some of us who frequent fligntsimnetwork could meet each other while we are there.

I have been very surprised that there has been no post (assuming I didn't miss them) addressing Air Venture 50. Certainly, it is not totally foreign to this Forum. I had thought that there might even be a possibility of meeting Simon, Lou, or some of the others to whom we owe so much for their contributions to this site.

Thanks:
RTH

I'll be there next week on the 28th and 29th while my girl is partying at the annual Ed Gein memorial barbecue and party up in Door County (don't ask!). Prior commitments prevent me from attending for the the entire week (such as WORK!) This will be only my 6th convention. Had the honor of seeing the greatest pilot to have ever lived speak over at the museum, Chuck Yeager.
He walked by me as he was taking center stage and my first thought was, " who is this little old man?". After listening to him speak for about an hour I came to the embarassingly realistic conclusion that this "little old man" could very well whup up on my sorry butt!:-lol

I assume from your statement that you have read Yeager, and Press On. If not, they are a must for anybody who even loves paper airplanes.

I envy you, and wish I could have heard him speak. This will be my first trip. (Been longing to go for forty years now.)

Yes I have read Yeager's book and have re-read it. Press On was one I have not read however. Another embarrasing aspect of my life is that I am woefully behind on my reading.

FLIGHTFX POLICY
1.) We design for reality, not for idealism.
Thus, you will not see virtual cabins on our aircraft. You can not see inside the real thing anyway, unless you are looking into the sun. You will find virtual cockpits but they will not be visible from outside for the same reason.
2.) We design for people with real computers. Thusly, we will not waste polygons on superfluous parts. We will use a texture when there is no noticeable difference between it and a group of performance wasting parts. We will model our aircraft efficiently. If you do not like it, too bad.
3.) We will give you the latest features, but we WILL NOT sacrifice visual accuracy to implement them. Accuracy comes before eye candy.[/font size]
