Cessna 421...

Hi there!

I'm the proud owner of a C421 from Justflight but I'm having some major problems with it...
The plane itself is a gem and works fine but isn't it strange I only get about 5-6 fps whenever I want to fly this babe?
Here are the specs & the situation:
Default Meigs
Default C421 + Service Pack
P4 - 1800Mhz / 750Mb RDRam / Geforce3-64Mb
Most of the sliders in FS are set to +-80%, only visibility which is set to 60mi.
FPS are locked at 17fps

Does anyone have a clue what I can try?

I have half the power of your PC (PIII 850) and my frame rates are the same as with other addon complex aircraft., (PSS B747, B777, DF B737, FSD Commander, Piper Cheyenne etc).-

Have you installed the update? If so, use it to recreate your addon textures in DXT3 format. This will greatly reduce the strain on your system and only marginally reduce the texture quality of the plane. I reinstalled all of my textures in DXT3 format, using T-O-M, and noticed a large improvement on load speeds and fps.

You may want to give it a try on a set before committing to reinstalling all textures.
