View Full Version : Panel Instalation on DC3

Hello;
I am trying to install the IFR panel into the DC3 and am having a heck of a time. The zip is dc3 pan.zip. I put in all the guages and have the IFR panel in the DC3 folder along with the alias folder but all I get is the regular panel. I know I am doing something wrong. I wonder if one of you experts could take a look at the ZIP and maybe tell me what I am doing wrong.

When posting filenames it is critical that you get them correct.

You post the filename= dc3 pan.zip

That file doesn't exist in the Flightsim.com library.

dc3_pan.zip does exist, as does dc-3.zip, but since the latter is for FS98 I will assume you are referring to the former.

This addon is a bit complicated to install, but not horribly so.

The IFR panel is not intended to be installed in the default DC-3 folder due to required changes in the aircraft.cfg

It should be a seperate folder named Douglas_DC3_IFR

You then have to add any textures you want to use with the IFR panel as Mark did not include any. This means you will have to edit the aircraft.cfg to reflect the texture adds.

Does this make sense to you? And have you done these steps?

If you have made the required changes , can you post the [fltsim.nn] sections from the aircraft.cfg in Douglas_DC3_IFR?

Thanks for the quick reply sorry for the file name snafu. I figured out that the DC3 IFR folder needs to be by itself in the aircraft folder. With that done I get an airplane adition in the list in the sim that says default and the panel works but have no textures. copyed over the textures from the DC3 folder and added my Buffalo Airways textures to theAIR CFG file but they dont work all I get is the default panel. But shouldnt the DC3 IFR be on the list in the sim as a seperate aircraft. Its in the aircraft folder as a seperate plane from the default DC3.

For some reason flightsim is listing this aircraft as default and none of the textures work. I did change the Flightsim 0 texture line to 1 and got a default texture.

If you want to use all of the default textures with the IFR panel replace all of the [fltsim.nn] sections in the aircraft.cfg in Douglas_DC3_IFR with this...

That worked. Now there is a seperate listing for DC3 IFR. I have all the default textures plus my Buffalo Airways textues installed. Thanks alot guys I really apreaciate it. Im going flying.
