I personally prefer the F-14's because it actually lets you see inside. It actually looks like an afterburner. The F-18's looks a little too flat. Just my opinion. :)

For what it's worth, I think IRIS Flight Simulations make some outstanding afterburner effects/textures. I wish they could be transferred to X-Plane as I've always found afterburner effects a bit lacking in that simulator :)

I remember modding this model a few years ago to add afterburner effects. Not true to the TV show but I liked the sense of sheer power it gave!
