I've made quite a few posts over the last few weeks and someone mentioned the fact that they thought I should try FSX on my new rig.

Here a few shots of the results. Just all the default stuff really. Lightbloom enabled and all running at 24fps. It all seems to be working too perfect on my little i3 rig.

I've had trouble with the dreaded Fatal Error message which seems to be a Windows 7 problem. I'm hoping that I've got it solved now after wiping the slate clean and re installing and reading up on some articles concerning the Uiautomationcore.dll.

My good friend Jan mailed me a list of sceneries this morning which I will be attempting to install over the next couple of days, along with the FSGenesis FSX media which has been sitting in a box with my copy of FSX.

What a perfect flight for a Sunday morning coffee crowd. http://clicksmilies.com/s1106/cool/cool-smiley-004.gif Puttering around the Seattle area?
Absolutely great shots, Simon. Haven't tried bloom yet on my rig, FTX is fairly hard enough on
performance without the "800 pound gorilla" of bloom adding to the hit. OrbX is worth it all though,
every blessed bit of it. http://clicksmilies.com/s1106/cool/cool-smiley-015.gif

Am warning you, cousin: once you get fully dialed into FSX then the stronger graphics will pull
you away from ACOF, even as good as FS9 is. Cain't be helped.

Congrats on these FSX pics my friend, amazing results!:cool::cool:
I hope you enjoy FSX a little, pity you need so many addons in FSX to get reasonable groundtextures in some parts of te world (New Zealand, Australia) , the good thing is they are available now :)
Enjoy Sunday Simon, greets to the Clan :)

Aha, Simon transitioning to FSX just before MS Flights comes out lol. You can get rid of those red banners but I can't remember how. It's a simple cfg entry.

Thanks Bob and Paul.

I wouldn't say I'm transitioning, just playing about really. ;)

I have done a search. To change the time the window/view names are displayed you can adjust "ChangeTime=0.10 " which is under the display section of your cfg.

To get rid of "parking brake" messages in the bottom left had corner of your screen there are some "InfoParkingBrakesEnable=True" type lines also in the Display section of your cfg. You can also edit the colour and background colour of the messages if you are a nutcase with too much time on your hands. (Looking forwards to seeing Jan's rainbow parking brake messages next post :D)

Humph, another defector. :) Looks like you have it dialed in pretty well Simon. Great shots, and the water looks especially good.:cool::) I need a new machine before I switch to FSX. Unfortunately most of my retro scenery will not work with FSX. So, it may be a while yet. :(

Thanks for the comments once again everyone.

Larry, don't worry FS9 is a permanent fixture on my PC.

Paul, thanks for the tip about the banner messages. :)
