View Full Version : Smoother Autoland with AddOn-Aircraft?

Hi,
Iīm looking for a way to make the AddOn aircraft which have autoland included (CS 757, 767, Wilco 737 PiC, etc.) land smoother when using autoland.
Each time when I do an autoland during an FsPax flight, I get a tire blow because the sinkrate is around 500-600 fpm, and thatīs really annoying.
Any ideas?

How about landing it the old fashioned way? I've always pondered how divirsified sim pilots are. I have no fancy for jetliners at all..but it is very obvious to me many other sim pilots really prefer them..cool. I meant to be sarcastic earlier as to me landing a J-3 in a crosswind at 07V is a real piloting task...and IMHO maybe more rewarding than running 'autoland software,' Does a 747 crew even need to even look out the windows any more? Seems so dry and clinical...not exactly barnstorming eh? Must be getting old...

Yea, but what do you do within Cat III minimums?

From what I've heard, autolands are NOT smooth landings in real life situations. They are hard landings to prevent floating,so I would imagine the vertical speed is close to the limit.
Maybe fspax is super criticalal or pedrhaps unrealistic for the particular aircraft.I don't know since I don't own fspax.

hi man its not true at all, my friend is a pilot and i flew with him couple of time and one of the landing when i was in the cockpit with him was cat III and he did a autoland and it was very smooth so i dont think that autoland is hard landing, cheers

Hi,
thanks for yours replies.
I know that autolands are not always smooth landings, since I was in cockpit once during an Cat III b (automatic)landing in an A320. There the sinkrate was about 250 fpm at touchdown, which was really hard... So I understand why FsPassengers gives you a tire blow when landing with 500 fpm...

@rotem5707: It depends on what video you mean. You can email me concerning questions about my video, since the topic here is another one ;). My email adress is: karli(dot)wiedenhofer(at)gmail(dot)com

Yep.. me too... I usually donīt autoland in conditions better than Cat I...
But, to return to the topic, has anyone got an idea?

What I think is:
The AP follows the G/S by changing the pitch trim up and down.. If he can do this faster (aircraft.cfg, pitch trim rate), he should be able to flare even better? Or not? What do you think? I might be worth trying..

hi, have you the problems with autolanding or with manual landing? the default 737 or an addon?
itīs EZCA camera addon by Flight1. Itīs amazing in the camera-shaking aspect.
