I wish someone would invent/write a program that would allow one to change FSX control settings easily without going into the program...Would save a lot of time starting and re-starting the program...Just thinking out loud...

Notepad will open the .xml and you can edit all you want without starting FSX. When you are done just re-save the file. See.... MS already invented that long before FSX!!

Depending on what you want to do ultimately, there are programs. If you want to make changes to things like display settings, cfg tweaks, and the like, there's Orbx's FSXGo. I use it for setting up multiple display option profiles for things like jets (less autogen), low-and-slow (more agn, lower LOD radius) and the like. From there you just open the program, double-click the profile you want to use, and it handles making the cfg changes instantly, then starts FSX. Maybe that's not what you meant, but if it is... :cool:

TweakFS also has a FSX.cfg editor that allows changes without ever having to locate the file or use a text editor.
