newgamer, aputech here. Despite all the hype (from the ad, not you, of course) from the link you provided I still believe FSX is better than Flight Pro Sim (never mind that I've been doing Flight Simulator since its inception in the early 80's on the Commodore 64 computer).
True, it has nearly all the bells and whistles a real-world pilot would enjoy, but on some of the aircraft (yes, I have a copy of it) the cockpits don't look all that great. I'm not saying they aren't accurate--heck things are where they are supposed to be in most cases, but it doesn't look as good in the pilot seat as many of FSX's cockpits do, but it does have decent sounds. And yes, you can 'fly over your house,' and all that. And you get lifetime updates, too.
If you have $50 to spend, I say go for it, but make sure you have a copy of FSX too! They both have their pluses (sp) and minuses, and I have found that Flight Pro Sim is inherently more stable and the scenery is good (not great) and it doesn't have as many fits when you add various flight controls or make minor tweaks to enhance the flyability or performance. But it does like system resources, so have at least a 2.+ ghz processor and 2-4GB RAM to keep the frustration level lower, maybe even a 2GB virtual memory allocation (I do, just in case).
I 'fly' FSX for the most part, but both are good. If budget is a concern, FSX is a no-brainer.

you can get pro flight sim from here
http://www.flightgear.org/
Flight gear developed it as open source and some nasty people out there are exploiting it and charging money for it.
