I don't mean to seem cruel, but that Apache model by RDJ is downright ugly. The flight model is based on the 206 Jet Ranger? Come on...I used to work at a place called Teledyne Ryan Aeronautical (where I first got into aerospace production) where we built the Apache (licensed by Hughes then) starting with the 'A' model and progressing from there. I still have my de-classified assembly blueprints from back then and I can't understand why RDJ depicted such an ungainly aircraft that really isn't all that authentic in appearance, when the uncontrolled blueprints for the thing are still available online.
The tail boom is too fat, the swash plate area is too small. Come on, RDJ, don't insult a poor schmuck like me who built the darn thing in the 80's, with a less than stellar replica you expect people to purchase. Of course, not all simmers out there are as picky as I am; I worked on a large majority of commercial and military aircraft, including the B-2 and F-117A. But I'm darned proud of the work I did on that gunship, and I sure as heck don't like flying something if it doesn't even have "tarmac appeal."
RDJ, remember: The 'realer' the better.
