hi!
i am looking for a good payware addon for FSX.
the problem is that i am using aATI Radeon™ HD 4870 X2 Graphic card so i got a a bad FPS.
The question is, those any of you know if there is any good addon out there, my dream i s PMDG 747 or the new they plan to release, the 737 NGX but i am afraid that it will kill my fps (best case its up to 25 fps, ( and that is high altitude, low density areas with original aircraft )
I would appreciate any answer.
Best regads

limiting factor in FS is the CPU, not the GPU. unless you have a i-series intel chip overclocked above 4GHz FSX is about moving sliders and settings 'to the left'.

you GPU is not a significant bottleneck for performance.

i suggest you check out the 'jesus' tweek suggestions you can find throughout this forum, or try the free cfg editor -

Last time I checked, the Radeon HD4870X2 was a pretty decent graphics card.

If you are looking for a PMDG heavy, the MD11 is one of the best. It's avionics are actually more advanced than the 747,but the frame rates are better.
It is one of my favourite aircraft.

Thx, i will look it over..
i got a quad core 2.8 GHz so then its the CPU that is the problem.
Thank you wdscobie for the tips to the site.
thx Mogget.
And thank you rservice for the tip on MD11.

Yeah, but it's wasted on FSX since it only uses one of it's cores.
