What is the right way to unintall repaints?

If you mean to simply remove a particular scheme, all you need do is delete the texture AND that particular entry in the aircraft config. Don't forget to renumber the entries in the config so they're all consecutive.

And don't forget to delete any "saved flights" that used the texture (variation) which you are removing.
If you do not, and then try to load a saved flight which calls for an aircraft texture which no longer exists, you will almost always get a CTD (crash to desktop).
If in doubt as to which FLT might be invloved, you can simply use Notepad and open the FLT file(s) to see what aircraft (and variation) is being called for.
Saved flights are typically found in your C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\My Documents\Flight Simulator Files folder.
