Textures are black

I made some textures. By editing the bmp files using GIMP.
Why is it black when loading FSX?

you need to convert the bmp's using dxtbmp ( its free ) as the bmp format is the wrong one

For FSX you can use DXT5 for the best quality ( unless you are using DDS format ).
