My Head TrackIR 4 has been working for a year but the camera died on me and I replaced it with TrackIR 5 Pro (have TrackIR_5.0.Final.b driver). At the same time I had to reinstall FSX for another unrelated reason. TrackIR 5 Pro is working (head movement, etc shown in control panel) and it recognizes FSX is running (right green led on camera lit and blue light on TrackIR control panel lit) which I assume means FSX is enabled however when I'm in the virtual cockpit ready to fly there is no movement in association with head movement. TrackIR 5 Pro works fine with FS9 with no problem. I remember encountering this problem a year ago in October when I upgraded to Win 7 and had to reinstall everything including FSX Deluxe with Acceleration (A free unlicensed version from Microsoft) but can't remember how I resolved it. I've tried starting each application as administrator but no success. In Windows/winsxs there are three "simconnect" entries (a possable problem suggested by NaturalPoint) which have been there since last October (modification date 10/27/2009, 10/28/2009). I suspect FSX is the problem. I'm using this same DVD software mentioned above which I installed last year however this time the curser is a black arrow when in full screen mode (something I've never seen before) which appears so far to be no problem. I've posted this problem on the NaturalPoint forum (no reply yet) and will do the same on the FSX forum here. Regards, Larry

For whatever its worth, when I first tried the TrackIR 5 I thought it wasn't functioning as well. Then I noticed that this tiny strip at the bottom of the screen was moving with my head, it was like below the gauges in the helicopter I was trying to fly. I used my mouse to close the main display and found that there was a second display hiding behind it, which was what I was seeing at the bottom. Anyways, once I closed the top display I had a full screen view that was working perfectly with the TrackIR.

Unfortunately, I never really got to spend a lot of time flying with the TrackIR because the TrackClip PRO is so EXTREMELY poorly built that it died within 2 days. It has these tiny, like 1/16" plastic clips that some moron designer thought would hold the swivel points together... and guess what, they broke off. I electrical taped the thing back together, but with less than an 2 hours total use the thing has failed completely. Anyways, guess I'm ranting... the point was that you might be experiencing the same "hidden" display issue I ran into. Hope that helps.

You can get the hat clip from Natural Point for $9.95. I've had mine for 2 years with no problems.
