Hello

I downloaded an AI Beech 1900D for FS9. I transformed it in a flyable aircraft, however it seems that it is underpowered since reading a B1900D checklist its speed should be 220-240 knots at 70% torque. However, at 24000 ft its speed is barely 180 kts at full throttle. Reading the documents of the AI B1900 its designer said the model was based in the KingAir FS9 default. So, I wonder it is underpowered? If so, anybody could suggest a change in the .air file? Thanks :D

The real B1900 is based upon the King Air. The B1900D has two 1280 shp PT-6 engines and weighs 10,650 lbs empty, 17,120 MTOW. The KA 350 has two 1050 shp PT-6 engines and weighs 9,030 lbs empty, 15,000 MTOW. (Figures from Airliners.net)

The AI aircraft flight dynamics are designed to work as AI. Which means the plane is designed to fly with no cargo, no passengers and no fuel weight. AI aircraft fly at the empty weight. If you take AI flight dynamics and add fuel and crews/passenger/cargo weight - it should appear underpowered.

I would suggest you try the actual default King Air flight dynamics.

First, thank you very much for quick replies.
About Avechelice .air file, unfortunately looks like become the B1900 with less power, because at 24000 ft his speed barely reach 130 kts, with fuel loaded at 43% , with 70% torque. The old file the B1900 reached 180 knots.
About Reggie suggestion to use default kingair dynamics, I wonder I have just to copy, paste and rename the .air file and put in the B1900 folder?

Copy and paste but do not rename the .air file. Change the sim= line in the aircraft.cfg file to match the .air file name.

You will also probably need to copy from the King Air aircraft.cfg file and replace the performance related sections in the B1900D aircraft.cfg.

For FS2004 performance is about 60/40 based on the aircraft.cfg file and the .air file settings.

As always - make sure you have safe backups of any file before replacing it or modifying it.
