Flying 737 800 I can land successfully but cannot stop the engines. the autopilot is off the FD is off ....have tried everything...what am I missing, I'm getting tired of ploughing thru tha t red barrier Nevd

just a few thoughts 1) is your autothrottle off 2) did you apply the brakes 3)are your spoilers armed and deployed 4) did you apply the thrust reversers

Autothrottle and autopilot are two entirely separate systems. You should be switching the A/T off as part of the final approach procedure - usually at about 1,000ft AGL when confirmed on g/s.

You might want to look at the Learning Center in the sim for further guidance.
