View Full Version : No sound on Project Open Sky models
I just downloaded my first Project Open Sky 747-400 today and there was no sound! is there any way this can be resolved?:confused:
ok heres the problem(s)
problem #1
its a posky plane (not trying to bash them or anything)
they dont support aircraft for fsx, so best not to ask them for help
problem #2
since they dont support fsx the sound file is aliased to a fs2004 aircraft or are using sound for 2004
there are some fsx posky aircraft and i think its best to download those

Thats a lie the 777 support both fs9 and fsx and afew of the 747 i think you need to download there sound package then do the rest from there (install)

Here is a direct link: http://www.flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=140244 .
The way to do this is to right click on the zip file name (library file listing page) and click 'Copy Shortcut' (where it will be 'stored' in Window's clipboard). You then come in here and right click anywhere you want link placed and choose 'Paste'. Now you have a direct link to file. When you 'Submit Reply' it gets saved as an underlined and blue colored link. Just trying to help.

747 sounds (Posky and default) are aliased to default 737 sound.
In FS9 default 737 was the -400, in FSX it has become the 737-800.
So open sound.cfg in the AC sound folder and change it to
[fltsim]
alias=b737_800\sound

Thanks Chuck, I just happened to have it on desktop at the time(dld the file yesterday), so copied its name for the OP! I probably shouldn't have underlined it though, it does look like a shortcut!:D...Don

Yep. I kinda figured. Still I got a chuckle out of it. Underline my foot-there's a 'link' (hehe)!! ROFLOL. But, it's cool-just kidding- and nobody got hurt. I need a nap.
