Hi

I have a plane that has no panels so it is aliased with the default 747_400 panel. The 2d panel works OK but when you go to VC it doesn't work. Is there a work around this as I always fly with VC.

Any help would be great.

I have a plane...

That's a coincidence, so have I... which one please ???

Of course it doesn't. VC is part of the AC's model and can't be aliased.

Is there a work around this...

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the plane...

It's the Alpha C-17 Globemaster III

Alphasim ? With panel aliased to 747 ? Got to see that  !!!
Btw. the VC for this AC is still "in the pipeline", see their site...

Using a VC requires a FSX-native model. I don't know of any alphasim freeware which is so the answer is probably no. The easiest way of checking though is to do this:

1. Open model folder.
2. Use notpad to open the .mdl file.
3. Then near the beginning of the file look for either of these codes:

MDLXMDLH - Works
MDL8MDLH - Doesn't Work

You can only use a VC with a plane using the first code.

If it is the MDLXMDLH code then you can try this tutorial:

Best of luck.

Thanks Killieman,

Will have a look. I know the panel is in the pipeline but would like a VC if poss. The 747 panel is crap and so old. It's a nice plane apart from that.
