Hi I am looking for a good modern military flightsim game. Any suggestions ?

The main thing I am interested is having something that has realistic missions and equipment.

But to answer your question: not really...

There's nothing like the wonderful old Jane's ATF or USAF or Longbow etc etc

For modern combat what you have at the moment is Lock On series and Strike Fighters:

There are some really good modern military flight sims. The best ones are free.

Alied Force (falcon4.0)

and some other free ones that promise release. But these seem to go on forever.
Fighter Ops and the mysterious Falcon BMS4.O which i doubt will ever come out. Think ive missed one or two.
