Anyone else try the new Google Earth Flight Simulator?

Go into the "Tools" tab and click on the "Enter Flight Simulator" option.

One negative is there is no buildings etc. standing out. There is some topographic detail given though to the ground.

I've always wanted to see what it would be like to fly with the satellite imaging around my home. Now it's here.

You can do that as well in FSX with TileProxy.

right so! and with our own planes and panels. And airdynamics and atmosphere.

To the original poster:
You say "new" Flight Simulator in Google?
I havent checked Google lately.

Is there a "new" flight simulator or is it the same as there is since 2005?

I was wondering the same... the google flight sim has been around for a few years, it started as an easter egg...

I think it's stunning, I was watching some footage from YouTube and it's amazing!

Yeah, it's the same one. :)

Obviously it's not terribly featured, and it still has a bit of that "easter egg" feel, but it's a fun little diversion!

Makes you miss autogen, though.

I did a search to see if there were any posts about it before posting and saw none so I figured I'd post it. I think I did see somewhere something about March of 2010 so that may be the latest version.

I hadn't heard of it so I figured it was new.

I tried the TileProxy thing a while ago and didn't have any success getting it loaded so I gave up on it.

Nothing compared to FSX but thought it might be interesting to check out. Some might be able to take advantage of the fact that it's free just to get started.
