DIRECT X PROBLEM........PLEASE HELP !

Hi,
my operating system is WINDOWS XP
by mistake I deleted DIRECT X v.8.1 with the Directx-Uninstall.
I install the downloaded DX 8.1, but if I start FS2002 I get a message that FS2002 requires DX8a or higher version.

Please help me to solve this problem !!!!!!!

Isn't there another update that goes with your download? Check the Microsoft site.

Why can't you install directX from the FS2002 CD? Or the Windows XP CD?

XP is a little different in the way it handles DirectX 8.1 as there is no separate downloadable version available. The only way to reinstall DirectX with WinXP is to reinstall the OS. If you have a restore point prior to the problem, a system restore might set things right again. Failing that, I think the only other option, excepting a reformat and complete reinstall, is to try a Repair reinstallation. Boot from the CD, run a new install, and select the Repair option when it somes up. Either of these may or may not work depending on how much damage the uninstaller has done (was it XP certified?) and what was actually reloaded (which OS version of DX). You can also try a Google Groups search ( http://www.google.com/advanced_group_search?hl=en ) and see if anyone has come up with any other ideas/solutions.
