Hi there gents,

I have become interested in Falcon 4.0 recently as my pc is not up to modern specs:P4 3.2
2 Gb corsair Ram, radeon X1950 pro 512, windows XP.

Having looked into it I can see that it is quite a complex sim in many ways, not only the game play, but also which package to go for, there seem to be countless options...

Because I am completely new to the whole F 4.0 experience thought I would read up in order to decide which package my best suits me, eventually decided to go for Free Falcon 5.2...or whatever the latest version is.

Now here's the problem, as I understand it, I have to have the original version first, and then install on top of that, however, finding F 4.0 is practically impossible, the only thing I seem to be able to find is a version called Falcon 4 Allied Force, which I have read is not great and the mods will not work with that version.

Some sites have said that you dont, infact, require the original at all to play FF, however on looking at the Free Falcon website I can see it stated quite clearly that you do need it.

So my question is where do I get it from,I am living in the UK and it looks as though the only version available is Allied Force, which as mentioned is no good to me...

Any thoughts or suggestions, as I mentioned I am completely new to the whole thing, so feel free to correct me if I am wrong on anything so far!

Many thanks!

I bought it and never really got into it. I'll look in my "old software" case to see if I still have it. If I do, I'll send it to you.
Have you tried LOMAC? It too might be a bit much for your system but if I remember correctly I ran it on the AMD equivalant of your system.

Hi John,

Many thanks for the reply!

I have got it working, actually the product free falcon is in fact free...so not just a clever name then!

Pretty dated in graphics but very high in fidelity, just getting used to it, loads to learn, just got the start up proceedure down, yet to fire a weapon!

Runs fine on my system, but there are a few stability issues, a few CTD, but nothing to bad, all a continuous work in progress.

Thanks for the offer though buddy!

I have had the first lomac since its release ( actually I was one of the sad people who was on their site every day waiting for news for about two years prior to release!), I really did enjoy it, but ran into graphical issues and since having to add a new hardrive about two years ago I never got around to re-installing it!

Now I am minus a stick as well having a problem with the adaptor and not really any cash to splash out on a new one, trying to sort that out on another forum!

Cheers again mate!

If you're into multiplayer, I think Allied Force is the best version since it's more stable.
