Here are a few more miscellaneous "odds and ends" shots showing some of the detail of the wonderful new Eastern Airlines L-1049 repaint for the Manfred Jahn "Team 1049" connie for FS9/FSX
Back in the days before "take off your shoes" security  and jetways the way you got on planes was to walk out on the tarmac to the airstairs. Here's a nice set with logo and paint to match the airplane

The Connie's massive triple tail was unique and an instant visual identifier among propliners

A window shot looking out over the #3 and #4 Wright R-3350 Cyclone 18 cylinder turbo compound engines - the most powerful (and finicky :D) ever designed for prop airliners

Belching smoke and fire :eek: the #4 engine roars to life in classic propliner fashion

Rear cockpit area. Besides the pilots the Connie carried a Flight Engineer (lefthand seat in the picture) and for overwater flights a Navigator/Radio Operator (right hand seat). I don't think Eastern flew overwater with these airplanes in this livery so the nav seat is most likely left over from an earlier time
