Question regarding PMDG paint kits

This may be a stupid question to some. However, are the PMDG paint kits strictly for their air crafts or can I use the paint kit for any 747 air craft ; being add on or default 747.

Just to let you know, there paint kits are confusing for first time painters of there kits:)

From the PMDG paint kit readme

Instructions:

- Paint the left and right fuselage textures, then use the 747400_Fuse_Cut_Template to cut out the fuselage sections and
place them in the 747400_Fuse_Layout_Template
- Make sure you do the above step for both the left and right side of the fuselage
- Adjust the nose gear door color to the lower front fuselage color
- Adjust the belly color with PMDG747_Externals_T to the lower fuselage color

I did not find them to be confusing. Actually I found theirs to be easier then most of the others others.

Any suggestions as to where I can find most of the paint kits?
