This is probably something really simple, but I can't figure it out and it's pissing me off. I started a flight in the Grand Caravan, dialed in the NAV frequency, then set flaps and trim, used full throttle and took off. As soon as I left the ground I get this beeping, as if it was some warning or something, and it wouldn't go away. Anyone know what it could be?

Thanks.

Yeah when you dial in your VOR or ILS you should get that station's morse code identifier. It's normal.

Ah, ok, I gotcha. I put the NAV radio on a different frequency and it went away.:) Thanks guys!

Is there any way to stay tuned into the frequency without having to listen to the beeps?

You can shut it off by clicking MKR in your radio stack ( I think that's what it is, correct me if I'm wrong someone )

The marker beacon is a different receiver in real life from the other nav radios or the ILS. Turning off the marker beacon audio switch solves that problem. You could have the other radios turned off and it would still activate if you went over the beacon.

If you think it was disturbing in the flightsim, imagine how the poor nervious passenger on a real flight would feel if you took off and they heard and saw all the lights bells and whistles going off. They wouldn't have a clue that it was normal and for all they knew, Klingons had just uncloaked behind the plane and were ready to attack!
