I don’t know how many folks have noticed but one of the most downloaded freeware releases for FSX in recent months has been the Team FS KBT Lockheed L-188 Electra. With its accurate VC and flying characteristics the Team FS KBT is the ultimate FSX L-188 release. The file name here in the Flightsim library is: l-188_electra_x.zip
Last time I checked there were something like 15,000 downloads between Flightsim.com and simviation.com – probably more if you add in downloads from Avsim now that their library is back up. In spite of being one of the most downloaded freeware airplanes this release looks to be one of the least repainted. :eek:
Which is really surprising considering the large number of airlines that flew the L-188 and its obvious popularity with simmers. Since the KBT release there have been maybe 4 or 5 repaints – TAA, PSA, Fred Olsen, & a couple of Varigs.
Which is kind of a long winded way of saying this is a request to all you talented repainters out there to please take a look at this outstanding release and consider doing some more and some different repaints. Here are a couple of very useful links with pictures of L-188 liveries:

My personal #1 priority livery would be Buffalo Airways. Reason being is that Buffalo is one of the very few airlines still flying the L-188 today which means it fits in with modern day FS scenery and AI traffic. I know there’s a Buffalo request here on the forum that apparently got done but that repaint doesn’t seem to be easily available to the community and it’s not clear that the FS L-188 model that was repainted was the Team FS KBT version.
