I was looking at things I have downloaded. Some removed, some kept and some I have not decided if it will stay or go.

Ultimately I have come across (as others probably have as well) a number of those items that you find yourself thinking in some cases... they could have charged for this! This is truely a professional grade add on that shows the love of the hobby and hours of effort and attention to realism and detail. These are ones I have installed and fallen in love with and are amoung those truely BEST freeware add ons I have found so far. Of course these are only "of my own personal opinion" and to be honest I am a picky son of a $#^&*! And even better is that they blend with UTX Canada perfectly.

Victoria+ for FSX by Jon Patch and Holger. This free scenery covers all of the San Juan Islands and west over to west Vancouver I|sland and North stopping just short of Nanaimo. Very nice. Lots of custom objects and overall a floatplane paradise but there are a number of strips as well. http://fsfiles.org/PA/index.php?act=view&id=25 or search flightsim.com for Jon Patch under FSX scenery.

Bella Coola FSX by Holger is the Bella Coola Valley in detail. Great area to fly around and take in the natural beuty of the Bella Coola Valley. Search the files here at Flightsim.com for bellafsx.zip. http://www.flightsim.com/file.php?cm=SEARCH

Plan-G app that provides a Google Earth like moving map and flight planner. Compared to planning flights in FSX, this is a lot easier to use and the map has way more detail. Makes flight planning fun. Can be run on a separate computer that does not even have FSX and it finds your FSX session running on your home network and shows you real time moving map on Google Earth! http://www.tasoftware.co.uk/

FTX Freeware Tons of freebies! These guys are nuts! http://fullterrain.com/freeware.html
High Def repaints and detailed cockpit environments for Carenado Mooney, C182 and C154 planes!
FTX BOB Walk around client. A litte man to walk around your scenery with to see things up close and personal! Check out that new airport you just downloaded from person view on foot!
FTX Blue Demo scenery for all of Tasmania! Breathtaking. Numerous airports for Tasmania!
FTX NA Blue PNW demo! Entire Olypic Peninsula! http://fullterrain.com/product_demos.html

JustFlight 152- if your into the Justflight Software, you'll like their free Cessna 152. http://www.justflight.com/microsoftc152.asp Thanks Bark0

OZX Grumman Goose HD Redux 1.20 A full HD re-modelling job of the deafult FSX Grumman Goose. Gorgeous. http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=633 Thx Jugador.

OZX Tiger Moth To quote he who wrote (GeorgeT93) "Anyone that hops over to OZx for the Grand Canyon scenery should also check out Anthony 'Ant' Lynch's new Tiger Moth for FSX. I spent the day flying it, and it's an absolutely fantastic piece of freeware that has earned itself a permenant spot in my hangar. Definitely payware quality and a heck of a lot of fun to fly!" http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?app=downloads&showcat=26

If I think of more I will post them. If others find em and they are payware grade I will add them too!

I have to agree on V+ and especially on FTX. I have their Blue, Green and Gold areas. Their freebies, plus Ant's 300+ airfields are a must and of unbelievable quality.

The Tasmania demo is excellent if you want to try FTX.

BOB is fun and of course I second Plan-G, a must have for VFR flights and planning.

This "BOB" must be new. I was to FTX's site several weeks ago, and didn't see "him". I've been using the freeware Dodge Charger to roam around, I'll give him a try instead.

I'll second their scenery, it is very very high quality!! (at least their airports -- I've installed the Tasmania scenery but haven't flown it much)

Adding this one to the thread.

Google Earth plug in for Tongass Fjords X scenery package (Made by Ed Truthan)... http://www.tongassge.com/ discovered here... http://forums.fsaddon.eu/viewtopic.php?t=1951 - Lets you see all of the waypoints, cabins and airstrips/seaplane bases on a map in Google Earth Style from the Tongass FSX scenery area. This is the freeware but you need the Payware scenery to use it. Very nice though. :)

not sure about Tile Proxy as it is really a personal preference kind of thing. Close to the ground it seems really blurry. Is that normal?

Go into the flightsim fsx file library. look under the section Propliners and search for Constellation. You will find several models.

As for TP, I agree with you. It is personal preference. I have never really gotten it to work for me as well as others...RagtopJohnnie, who posts here, evidently has had very good results.

Incidentally, I fly with external view 90% of the time, so i'm not really too bothered about whether an add-on has got super-duper interior detail and panels so long as the exterior view looks very good.
I estimate I delete about half of all add-ons because the external view is not up to scratch. Sorry but no donations for those guys..;)

PW Sceneries are FREE sceneries for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. The initial volumes cover the islands of the Caribbean.
Each volume features accurate coastlines, landclass, waterclass, custom land polys, vector roads and streams, road traffic, updated airports feature enhanced AI parking, library objects and even wildlife!

Found here - http://pwsceneries.fswaterconfigurator.com/index.html (http://pwsceneries.fswaterconfigurator.com/index.html)

Excellent freeware! I spend hours in the islands flying Amphibious and Helicopter (Which I keep on a yacht in one of the bays) exploring the scenery and their 5 star resorts.

Another must have add-on IMO is the GA traffic. It dresses up every airport in the world with whatever GA aircraft you have in your aircraft folders. Besides filling up the parking spots it creates flight plans for all of them. If you use World of AI GA packages it gives you a lot of additional GA models besides all the other ones you have. It's in my reinstall folder as a must have.

FSX GA-Traffic second release candidate. GA-Traffic is the first fully automatic general aviation (GA) traffic generator, now for FSX. Features: Generate GA traffic for every installed airport of the whole FSX world at once; Fully automatic detection of installed planes and airports; Simulate different GA traffic behavior; 'Virtual landing fees' unique algorithm to avoid GA traffic generation on busy commercial airports; Amphibian planes used only near seaports; Amount of plane usage selectable for every livery; Different plane usage (taxi, business, rental, student, club and private) selectable for every livery; Unique 'Make AI' function to reduce the texture size of add-on planes to hold the frames per second up.; Proofed aircraft files for correct AI flying behavior; Integrated TrafficTools from Lee Swordy, no need to manual generate the traffic files. I'd downloaded the lower res photosceneries available here - and not been too impressed but the chilliview downloads are much better 1m per pixel

downloading is a bit of an epic though ie for utah they do 21 main tile squares each with 25 smaller downloads ie over 500 20 to 50 mb downloads just for utah!

I read the manual but some things are not covered such as how to choose what planes will use it,,how to set traffic limits (slider just says something about parking),,,what does the probability setting do,,,do I have to do anything with airports such as someone on the web said to recompile them?

Thanks,

The screenies look good (though they're plenty small to see, you can post larger pictures here :))

Thanks, I'll look into 'em at any rate!

No problem...No, not Tileproxy, just a great looking texture. Actually, this site will only let you post a pic that's no bigger than 195.3 KB. That's why I link to Tinypic.

I'd post a bigger one, but I didn't want to make it slow to download for folks with a slower connection. :)

I'll grab a couple of big screenies and post in a little bit. :D

That's the plan, anyway. I'm working on Mauai now--hopefully it'll be ready for Christmas with the smaller nearby islands ready to follow several months later. Then Oahu and, finally, the "Big Island". I suppose, though, that the order of things could change.

Glad you're enjoying it.

To be honest im waiting for a VC before i look at the model, I know by some good people on this web site that the model is good ( well maybe better than good ) but for me i would need a VC as well as i dont want to do a VC merge.

Sorry Jugador - but that aint it. I went looking for it after you posted. It disappeared. Can't find it anywhere. They pulled it for some reason. I suspect that FTX may have purchased their work. Just a guess. It was really well done. I will pull my post since it went away. The file name is what I listed. You may want to pull your post witth an edit/delete and then I will pull this one to clean up this thread.

I read it was because they used stolen GEX textures to do it. I would have to find the link.

*edit* wow, lol. there is an incredibly annoying animated image inside the cockpit on the top (but clearly in view the entire time when flying) that rotates through a series of images advertising the author of the aircraft and him pleading to give credit and blahalhbh. It's really, really annoying and a poor choice of the author. Anyone know how to remove it?

great aircraft other than that, only thing i can't figure out so far is how to get the autothrottle working. i try clicking on the IAS and mach buttons on the autopilot board but they just dont work :S

Most of my freeware mining is for jetliners. My favorites so far are the Historic Jetliner Group's 727, DC-9, and BAE-146 models. Also, Dave Malby's Trident package. The Premier Aircraft Design stuff is nice, too. I have their BAE-146, the Dornier 328J, and the Dash-8 -200 and -300.

If I had to pick just one of these to keep, It would be HJG's BAe-146, with Matthias' amazing panel/trainer. HJG insist that it isn't for FSX, but if you download the plane from HJG, then get the panel from baepanelproject.com (make sure to get the FSX version and install it to spec) it looks and flies beautifully in FSX.

I see that various sites have already been mentioned, but, I can offer more, some of the material was intended for FS2004, but, I have got it working in FSX, just look for anything built since 2007/8, it should work OK.

It is a must have freeware aircraft, but I take it they haven't released the VC panel for her yet huh or they probably never intended to do a VC panel. I agree it is awesome but it is half done! For now I will keep flying my payware Overland A380 with a Hi Res VC panel (as it came in a package of Airbus aircrafts for only $24 US) cant go wrong with that and it is FSX compatible via upgrade software from the Overland website.

Yeah, it's free partner. They have changed their site, tho. When I first posted the link, links to the free downloadable scenery
were posted on their site. Apparently, due to huge demand, their server wasn't able to handle the load, so now you have to send an email and
request a link for the months freebie.

Go to the site, and click on the "samples" button, you'll find that the free scenery for this month is the southern half of California. Next month the northern half will be available for free. A very kind and

Yeah, I noticed the interesting sounds, too. A funny little squeak here, a crackle there...:D

I don't know if you heard it yet, but if you start pulling too many G's, you hear a guy trying to catch his breath, and the cockpit will go black for a few seconds as if you became conscienceless for a moment. I found that out by pushing a button I shouldn't have...lol

Very nice.
